As the cartoon vividly depicts, a father is answering his child’s question. The kid in a beautiful costume, holding a stick in his hand, tells his father that many of his classmates feel it is boring to perform opera. And his father takes the attitude that he can learn it as long as he likes it. It is obvious that the kid can choose what he learns according to his hobbies and interests.

Undoubtedly, the purpose of the drawing is to show us that due attention should be paid to the importance of interest. In other words, A person with foresight will never only focus on the immediate interests when choosing a

career. The point is best illustrated by the example of Elon Musk. As the president of the Space X and Tesla, he is convinced that it is his interest in space exploration has contributed significantly to his current achievements, making it easier for him to survive in a highly competitive commercial world. There is no doubt that the author intends to tell us to choose our career based on our hobbies and make efforts to do so.

From what has been discussed above, we may easily draw a conclusion that when choosing a career, we should consider our own interests and hobbies, not just the immediate interest and the opinions of others.
